Removing clutter and improving user experience

Business problem: Thrifty is the only Australian-owned international car rental company. They are 100% owned by NRMA Motoring and Services. Their existing website was outdated and very cluttered, which makes the online booking experience difficult and overwhelming to users.

Solution: This was a design-only project - the backend booking functionality cannot be updated, so all we could do is to review and provide suggestions on how to improve the user experience. To make the new website more user friendly and aligned to their brand styleguide, I've used illustrations to represent the 'miniature world of Thrifty'. I've also introduced lots of whitespaces and redesigned the font styles to make sure the content is easy to read.
