Bio
Hi! I'm Vivian Lo, a senior UX/UI designer based in Sydney, Australia. I'm originally from Hong Kong and just like every other Asian kid, I spent most of my childhood watching anime, particularly films by Studio Ghibli. Watching these undeniably cute characters coming to life had inspired me to start drawing, which has ultimately led me to the creative industry.
After receiving an Advanced Diploma in Animation, I completed a Master of Design Science (Digital Media) at the University of Sydney, where I studied photography, website design, graphic design, video production and interactive multimedia.
Work
I have over 14 years of experience working in independent digital agencies, advertising agencies and fin-tech companies. I am currently a Senior UX/UI Designer at Sympli, a new start-up venture co-owned by ASX and InfoTrack.
For almost 4 years, I've been a senior digital designer at Six Black Pens, an agency specialising in content and design services for financial and corporate companies. Clients included National Australia Bank, MLC, JBWere, Medtronic and many many more. I worked closely with the clients and development team on delivering responsive websites, iPad apps, intranets and interactive kiosks for live events.
Prior to Six Black Pens, I started my own business as well as worked as a freelancer for a number of digital agencies and local start-up companies. I mainly focused on mobile and web applications designs.
My first design role was at Reactive Sydney. For more than 5 years, I have been fortunate enough to work with well-known Australian brands like General Pants Co., Sydney Airport, NRMA and Cochlear.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading design blogs, hiking, online shopping e-commerce research and trying out delicious baking recipes.
